Monet was a French painter whose 1872 painting, "Impression
Sunrise" (which depicted sunlight dancing and shimmering
on water), gave the name to the entire Impressionist movement.
In 1862, entered the studio of Gleyre in Paris and there met
Renoir, Sisley, and Bazille, with whom he was to form the nucleus
of the Impressionist group |
