Umbrella Art

Umbrella art is a unique form of art that spans across multiple cultures. These thematic prints can contain many different kinds of styles and subjects, however, they are often portrayed with human figures, particularly women. This is largely due to the fact that parasol images are often associated with different themes of femininity and protection.

Many of the works in this art category are thematic pictures, however, it's important to note that these images often contain people in them. Many famous artists have explored parasol images in their works, most notably in the famous art image 'Madame Monet and Her Son' by Claude Monet. Many fashion prints also employ this art element alongside people as well.

Fashion prints that employ umbrella art are highly popular within this art category. These works have much in common with pop art paintings and often employ umbrellas as an accessory or tool to highlight the overall effect of the work.

Pop art paintings also employ umbrellas, although these works are usually more whimsical than their fashionable counterparts. This is largely because pop art paintings featuring umbrellas have works that are suitable for both children and adults. Thematic prints like 'Elephant and Owl With Umbrella' by Nancy Lee is an example of a pop art painting meant for children while parasol images such as 'My Complex Heart' Lorraine Christie is more in line with modern umbrella art for older audiences.
