Hawk Art Prints

Hawk art is a popular creative category of art that enjoys fans from around the world. Although traditionally used for hunting, these birds have since went on to capture the imagination of a variety of cultures and are now typically displayed in modern art as the natural predators that they are, rather than as a tool for hunting. Natural art featuring hawks typically shows them searching for prey. Unlike many predator bird prints, these paintings don't portray hawks in flight but sitting on a branch. Although there are many different kinds of hawk, they are all usually categorized by their serious faces and sharp talons rather than any particular trait of their form or flight, which is generally how other predatory birds are depicted in natural art.

Hawk paintings are frequently associated with Native American cultures. These predatory bird images are due to the symbolism of hawks in many Native American myths. In these legends, hawks are seen as an important messenger from the gods, much as the falcon was the messenger for Amon Ra in Egyptian culture. Frequently, hawk images are seen in tandem with a young Indian brave, as seen in 'Young Hawk' by Gary Ampel. The inclusion of hawk imagery in these works hints at a chosen hero, or someone for whom the gods has a special destiny.

With the amount of variety, symbolism, and types of hawk fine art available, it's easy to see why this category is popular among modern art audiences. Although there are still some areas in which the hawk is still associated with its roots as a hunting tool, such as hunting lodges and game ranges, hawk art is slowly being reconstructed by modern audiences into a serious, graceful, and powerful image that rivals images of other predatory birds.
