Kitchenware Art

Kitchenware art is a category of art that features accessories needed for cooking, eating, or drinking. From silverware like spoons and forks to more complex subjects like teapots and measuring cups, this type of kitchen print is a form of art that has become increasingly popular for interior design in both personal and business venues.

Although kitchenware art is considered a contemporary kitchen print, many of these pictures employ the same techniques and executions that have been popular among kitchen prints for years. These works still try to convey a sense of warmth to the viewer, inviting them to explore the image with their eyes and their senses. These contemporary kitchenware prints often include food or beverages in them, as seen in the kitchen still life, 'Bon Appetit' by Dan Dipaolo.

Many kitchenware paintings employ still life art in order to create an aesthetically pleasing image. These works are often richly or brightly colored and are reminiscent of classic styles. Works such as 'Bistro' by Diane Weaver, though apparently a still life image, is actually a perfect example of kitchenware art because the primary focus of the image is the utensils, in this case bowls.

Kitchen photography has also redefined the definition of kitchenware art through the use of dramatically appealing photographs. These works lend themselves to a modern style of kitchen and often feature dark backgrounds with bright or shiny utensils. Still life photography such as 'Spoons' by Mike Feeley are archetypical of this form of kitchen print, as is 'Tsp' by Dick and Diane Stefanich.
