Nautical Art

It’s not just for beach houses anymore! That’s right, decorating with nautical art is great for any home, anywhere, and really lets you show your laid back, beachy sense of style. Beach decor for the home can include images of boats, ships, and scenic views of the beach and ocean. In addition to nautical paintings and photography on the walls, you can add to the nautical theme by using anchors, life preservers, lanterns, ship wheels and beach pails throughout the room. Rooms with a nautical theme are often finished in blues, whites and beiges and many of the nautical art prints available will share those colors, giving you a wide selection of images to choose from when decorating your walls. Using white or brown frames with a weathered feel are great on images of sailboats, and lighthouses. And with Nautical images available in both traditional and contemporary styles, you can easily tie your nautical themed room in with other areas of the home that have their own look and feel.

There’s also a great selection of nautical photography to make a statement in your room. A popular choice when decorating with photography is close up images of sails, riggers and other parts of the ship. And since these photos are often black and white or sepia toned, they go great with the beiges and whites mentioned earlier. Using small photos of various ship elements in a collage is fun way to create a feature wall and including nautical ropes in your collage design makes it even better.

With so many options available for nautical art, it’s easy to make a first rate room that fun and unique to you.
