Dog Photography

Dog photography is a highly popular art option for consumers. These sensitive works range from the serious to the silly and work to highlight the individual personality traits of the canines they capture. Characterized by the wide range of dogs depicted and the unique artistic vision used to create this form of art, these photographic examples of canine fine art have become a favored mode of interior design among animal lovers and owners.

Dog portraits are a popular aspect of canine photography. These works serve to exemplify the essence of contemporary lifestyle art, where dogs are no longer animals of labor but beloved friends and pets. These works can be as whimsical as 'Cafe Pug' by Jim Dratfield or as heartwarming as 'Loki's Kitten' by Rachael Hale. Regardless of the purpose for which these pet photos are developed, they serve as a unique look into the lives and personalities of individual dogs and breeds.

Many examples of dog pop art take advantage of the photographic medium, as well. These works are typically meant to be amusing and feature photographed canines with print in order to make a joke or statement that isn't inherently obvious through image alone. The work 'Just a Trim...' by Yoneo Morita is an example of this form of photographic pop art, as is the work 'Second Coffee' by Rachael Hale. These whimsical and adorable pet photos have become highly popular among modern audiences, particularly younger animal lovers to whom this artwork is typically directed towards, as a means of amusement and expression.

However, dog photography does have a serious side. Photographic works like 'Girl with Dog' and the work 'So Boring' by Linda Joy Solomon serve a different purpose than their humorous counterparts. These works work to highlight the relationships between man and canine and are commonly associated with lifestyle art, as well as canine fine art. These pictures are heartwarming in nature and focus on the friendship that an animal companion provides generations both young and old.
