Spanish Baroque Art

Art usually thrives during times of economic prosperity, even though many great artists didn’t enjoy any of the benefits of wealth and popularity. Spanish Baroque Art was second to none of its European counterparts and it is widely regarded as one of the most successful movements of the Spanish Golden Age. Also known as the Golden Century, this period of time saw artists rising to a prominent status, while working under the high patronage of the Habsburgs.
