Black and white sports photography is a highly popular outlet for these photographers. Baseball legends such as Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig are commonly depicted and are some of the most popular type of black and white photography available.

As far as urban pictures go, there are few that offer the sheer amount of diversity and uniqueness of black and white New York City photographs. The cultural and historical significance of this city has rarely been seen in American history and many photographers try to convey that sense of timeless magnitude in their work as they photograph the city that never sleeps.
