1950s Wall Art

Two cars in every garage, that was the motto, unofficially, but the 1950's were a time of great prosperity in America, though black and white film and television were the standard, 50's Inspired Wall Art spanned both the black and white and color, and the art truly captured a time of dreams of the worlds greatest country moving ahead in unison.

Hollywood was booming and stars were born, and superstars were made, and probably none more so than Marilyn Monroe, and in “Marilyn Monroe, 1952” catches the starlet in her prime exuding beauty and innocence all in one. The trademark blonde hair and cutting edge dresses leaving all the boys in a flutter in this 50's inspired wall artwork. Many a young man pinned this on his wall with hope and dreams.

The 50's were a time of innovation and the kitchen was one of the most fertile areas where this revolution began. Color Bakery's “Fifties Kitchen, I” and the toaster that changed the world, simplicity and innovation came to the forefront in the kitchen, where the future was colliding with the past in an exciting and historic way. Technology made everyday life easier and more efficient.

Nothing exuded cool and hip like “James Dean, New York, Cir. 1954” by Roy Schatt in his 50's Inspired Wall Art print in the cool pose of him bucking the trends and kicking back. Cool really came into fashion as rebels emerge to challenge the establishment and usher in the 60's.
