Pop of Color Art Prints

With magnolia walls and buttercream carpets being well and truly behind us now in terms of interior design, nothing enhances a space quite like a beautiful print, with just a Pop of Colour Wall Art that jumps out from a black and white cityscape, like Harold Silverman’s New York inspired works.

Pop of Colour Artwork is just a flash or bubble that bursts and tells a story behind the main picture, whether it is a silhouette of New York City skyline, or the Eiffel Tower lit up against the Paris night like the work of Dianne Poinski. Modern office spaces often use the technique, by having bright white walls with one primary color used in small doses just to highlight single pieces of furniture or a stand out piece of wall art.

It’s a technique used for dramatic effect in films – a flash of color in a black and white scene - who can forget the poignant scene from Schindler’s List of the girl in the red dress? Pop of Colour Poster is also used to highlight beauty in make-up routines – there is no denying the very definite impact of bright red lips or a swathe of teal eye shadow against a beautiful woman’s skin.

The technique is a tried and tested way to highlight architectural details and lend personality to a neutral space. Many artists draw inspiration from color in nature, such as a single flower against a neutral background, or a hint of the changing seasons – both classical approaches taken by artists Harold Silverman, Papaveri E Nuvole and others.
