Celebrity Prints

Celebrity posters are works of art that feature famous people ranging the current day to the past centuries. These posters remind viewers of the connections between then and now, of the moments that took our breath away. Each one of these celebrities are a piece of history that shouldn't be underestimated in the art world. There are two main types of celebrity pictures: Artistic prints and photo realistic recreations. Artistic celebrity prints can be in color or in black and white. These interpretations frequently try to coax the viewer into seeing the famous person in a different way and several very successful artists have succeeded. Andy Warhol and L. Ritter became famous for their interpretations of Marilyn Monroe and Garibaldi breathed sensuous life into his interpretation of Aubrey Hepburn.

Although these aren't necessarily 'true to life', they evoke a sense of what that person represented for the people that admired them. Other posters that lean toward the artistic are ones that don't feature a human celebrity at all, but an infamous figure such as King Kong, Zorro, or other culture icons.

Photorealistic celebrity portraits are typically black and white and portray real events that occurred. These prints are popular for fans and history enthusiasts alike because they can portray important moments or everyday life, allowing us a glimpse into the essence of the person the artwork features. While both of these types feature famous people from past and present eras, the way that they portray these figures is vastly different.
