Anne Mackechnie Art Prints

Anne Mackechnie grew up in picturesque Annapolis, MD, and after a brief stint in the midwest returned to her hometown in 1994. As a lettering artist, Anne has trained with some of the world's finest calligraphers. Anne's work as an illustrator began in 1994 with a request from a client to combine lettering and illustration for a packaging design. Anne's work is now focused on her detailed and often whimsical watercolor illustrations. "I see our lives and relationships as being filled with moments of humor and joy that cry out to be enlarged and brought to our attention. My goal is to capture these moments in a way that would make the viewer think of a friend and smile, remember a cherished place, or escape to a new one. In my work I am trying to communicate the simple expressiveness of the way a person sits in a chair or holds an apple, or merely the lines of an old garden tool." -- Anne Mackechnie
