John Joseph Albert is an artist from Indiana. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from St. Meinrad Seminary, and a Master of Divinity degree from the same university. He’s an essayist and a poet, whose literary works have been published in top journals and periodicals, including The Merton Seasonal of Bellarmine College, Cistercian Studies, and The American Benedictine Review. He explored and continues to explore a variety of media, subject matters and styles. He also continues to produce art in a variety of finishing options which are all popular with collectors. Although the artist continues to work in the areas of the human condition and spirituality as a research scholar, he also shares his experiences through the visual arts. Albert works in mixed media, watercolor, charcoal and graphite to create balanced abstract compositions and realistic images symbolic of perspective, proportion, and interrelatedness.
His pieces of art have been presented in art galleries and art shows throughout Virginia, Georgia and Ohio. For him, painting is at best an emptying journey and a fulfilling experience. He says that the visible object is potentially communicative and powerful to those who view it; through representations, conversations take place without words. A number of his works of art are represented by an international art publishing company called World Art Group. The artist adds that a painting is provocative when it succeeds in stirring the imagination of the viewer and brings new thinking. Albert paintings symbols, hold signs, analogies, metaphors and allegories of the human struggle.
